We used to love the Purple Pub. When I saw that someone was opening a new spot there we gave it a try. We have been there twice since it became The Trestle and both times the food was terrific. It's an old school facility, but it has a lot of character. The staff is very friendly and provided great service. My wife absolutely loved the eggplant parm. They have generous portions and the prices are reasonable. We will be going more often. It's a great place to go with your family and the menu has something for everyone. Give it a try.

Formerly the Purple Pub, which I unfortunately never had the opportunity to visit, the Trestle Restaurant & Pub has plenty of classic options to please everyone. I went on a Friday night, and my party of three was sat immediately. In addition to their regular menu, they had a variety of specials. They also have a cocktail menu and a good selection of draft beers that include local, regional, and national options. We weren't hungry enough for an appetizer, so we just ordered entrees, which included the Chicken Parm, Bacon Bleu Burger, and Broiled Haddock. The Chicken Parm portion was huge, and the cutlet was cooked perfectly. I'm also a fan of chunky tomato sauce, which is exactly what it was topped with. It was delicious! And for $18, I thought it was more than fair for the large portion I received. My boyfriend loved the Bacon Bleu Burger, which came with handcut fries, and my Dad loved the Broiled Haddock. It was a large piece of fish over fettuccine pasta with a lemon butter sauce. We all left full and happy! I'm also so happy to have a place like this nearby.

Finally tried it! I had the caboose burger with the lettuce, tomato, pickled onions and tombstone sauce. The sauce was a mix of blue cheese, buffalo sauce and honey. Amazing!!! Really made the burger - that and the high quality beef. Hubby had the turkey club - very generous and he only ate half - and this man can eat! Sides were perfect - homemade fries for him and homemade potato chips for me. Both were delicious. I'm still thinking about that burger - the sauce was incredible!!! I will be back and want to try the pizza and pasta dishes but I will probably end up with that burger again - wow it was so good! Love to see a small business do well...and I appreciate that the owner welcomed us on arrival and thanked us when we were leaving.

What a great restaurant and pub! Good food and easy going vibe. My salad was freshly made- no brown lettuce, just enough olives, red onions, cherry tomatoes , thinly sliced cucumbers, excellent croutons, fantastic ranch dressing with Parmesan cheese and dill. Both the BBQ and locomotive burgers were HUGE!! I had the English cut roast beef, gravy was made perfectly , mash potatoes melted in my mouth, zucchini sliced thin. Wonderful meal, live music-awesome. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I miss the old Purple Pub, which closed for good in early 2023. The Trestle took over the Purple Pub and the Purple Pub 2 Go next door. At the time of this posting in November 2023, the main restaurant and pub of The Trestle was not yet open and The Trestle was only open for takeout and delivery, operating out of the former Purple Pub 2 Go space. The takeout place offers 12" and 16" pizza pies and Sicilian pizza (traditional and specialty), wings, fried foods, oven fired wedge sandwiches, salads, and cold drinks. The prices seem fair and they offer online ordering through Mealeo. I took a look over the menu online and the Mealeo site also charges an online fee, probably to cover the credit card fees. I decided to head over to The Trestle in Maplewood for takeout since I was going to pay with cash. When I arrived, I initially thought they were not open since the doors to the former Purple Pub were locked. However, the next door takeout place was open. There place is strictly order and pickup, standing room only. I ordered a 12" Eggplant Pizza ($13.98 plus tax) and a Prime Rib Wedge ($12.99 plus tax) and it came out to $29.13 with tax in person and paid cash. They said my order would be ready in 20 minutes, so I went back out to my vehicle to sit down and wait. I returned back in 20 minutes when my order was hot and ready. I headed back to my vehicle to enjoy some hot food. The round pizza had a thicker doughy crust, a bit uneven, topped with minimal red sauce, the right amount of thin breaded eggplant slices and melted cheese. The crust was soft and slightly chewy as I enjoyed a slice fresh hot out of the oven. The pizza was good. The prime rib wedge was served open faced filling up the very hot foil container, with thin slices of tender prime rib and lots of melted Muenster cheese over slaw and Russian dressing. A fork & knife was needed and this prime rib wedge was excellent. I plan to return again when the restaurant and pub open, so I can sit down and enjoy some food and drinks and watch sports too.
